This Privacy Policy explains how Global Shipping & Forwarding S.R.L. (“we”, “us”, “the Company”) processes personal data when you visit www.gsforwarding.ro and how we comply with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and applicable Romanian law.

2. What data we process and why
This website is a static, informational site. We do not run user accounts, e-commerce or newsletters. We process personal data only in the limited situations below.
2.1 Server / hosting logs
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records technical data when a page is requested: IP address, date and time, the requested URL, HTTP status, user agent and referrer. This can constitute personal data.
- Purpose: operating the website securely, preventing abuse and diagnosing technical problems.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure, functioning website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Retention: logs are kept for a short period by the hosting provider and then deleted or anonymised.
2.2 Contacting us
If you contact us by e-mail or phone using the details on our Contact page, we process the data you choose to provide (e.g. name, contact details, the content of your message).
- Purpose: replying to your enquiry and, where relevant, taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract.
- Legal basis: pre-contractual steps and/or our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
- Retention: for as long as needed to handle your request and to comply with any applicable legal obligations.
2.3 Interactive map (Google Maps)
Our Contact page can display an interactive Google Maps map. This map is not loaded by default; it loads only after you give consent (via the cookie banner, the cookie settings, or the “Load Google Maps” button). When loaded, Google LLC may set cookies and receive your IP address.
- Purpose: showing our office location on an interactive map.
- Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time from the Cookie Policy page or the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

3. Cookies and local storage
By default we store only your cookie preference on your device (no tracking). Non-essential technologies (the Google Maps embed) load only with your consent. Full details, including a table of what is stored, are in our Cookie Policy.
4. Recipients
We do not sell your personal data. Data may be processed by service providers acting on our behalf (e.g. our hosting provider) under appropriate agreements. If you consent to the Google Maps map, Google LLC acts as an independent provider for that feature.
5. International transfers
If you consent to load Google Maps, data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States. Google relies on its own safeguards for such transfers (including EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, where applicable). If you do not consent, no such transfer takes place through this website.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access your personal data and obtain a copy;
- request rectification of inaccurate data;
- request erasure (“right to be forgotten”), where applicable;
- request restriction of processing;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- data portability, where applicable;
